BCAA Workshop-Everyone has a Story to Sing
October 19 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Everyone has a Story to Sing w/ Nicholas Felder
Join BCAA for a celebratory community gathering with Nicholas Felder! Tell the story of your life through pictures and song. The activities planned for this event are accessible for all levels of experience. Light treats and refreshments will be provided.
Participants will create graphic scores (pictures and symbols describing musical events) using sounds and melodies tied to who they are and where they’re from—what home means to them. Participants will then be invited to share their scores and life stories with the group, and Nicholas Felder, acclaimed violinist and community organizer, will interpret and perform the scores. The activity will serve as an opportunity to listen, share creativity, and call in thoughtful connection.
An active composer and collaborator, Nicholas has had his works performed nationally by ensembles, such as the Hawai’i Youth Symphony, Mivos Quartet, Kennesaw State University Symphony Orchestra, DC Youth Orchestra Program, and University of Michigan Converge Quartet.
Nicholas is currently earning his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Music Composition at the University of Colorado Boulder. For more on Nicholas, find him at www.nicholasfelder.com
$10 for BCAA Members, $15 for nonmembers.
